Choose a philology if you want practical skills

According to some people, studying philology makes sense only in one case - when someone wants to teach a language at school. This is, of course, a stereotype that is not worth believing in. Studying a foreign language can not only be extremely useful for getting a job, but can also help you develop other passions such as travel.

It's not just the school

Graduation in English = teaching at school? Not necessarily. This is, of course, one of the possible professions; it requires the candidate to obtain pedagogical qualifications. A graduate of English studies will also find employment in private kindergartens and language schools. He will also earn a lot from tutoring - teaching a language after hours is extremely profitable and often provides a second salary. However, a graduate of philology does not have to link his professional career with teaching (no matter in what dimension). It will also work well as a translator or foreign language copywriter. It is also worth remembering that philologists will also find employment in offices or companies maintaining business contacts with foreign countries.

Broadening the horizons

Studying philology is not only about studying a language and the possibility of mastering it; it is also about learning about the culture, history and customs of a given nation. A philology student will have the opportunity to broaden his or her horizons, look at the world through the eyes of a foreigner, and at the same time distance himself or herself and understand many things. It will be especially useful for people who love to travel or associate their future with frequent trips to the countries of a given cultural circle.

One philology, two languages

Some universities allow two languages to be studied within a single course. A very popular combination is English and Spanish philology, which allows the student to master the languages that almost a billion people around the world consider to be their mother tongue, and even more are able to use them or are in the process of learning them. It is not difficult to guess that a proficient knowledge of two such important languages can be a great asset when looking for a job; for example, bilingual translations are involved, which are much more cost-effective.
