Can we trust mobile banking?
Poles use smartphones more and more often. Together with them we are happy to use various mobile applications. Among them, banking applications are very popular, which allow us to access the bank account and conduct various operations. But can we fully trust this form of banking?
Using mobile applications provided by banks we can not only check our account balance. We can also perform a number of other operations, such as transfers, payments via the Blik system, we can even make deposits or take loans. No wonder that the popularity of this kind of applications is very high.
In order to be able to use mobile banking, we not only need to download the application to our mobile phone and install it. We should also authenticate ourselves specially so that the system knows that the correct person is logging into the application. For this purpose, we usually have to confirm that the mobile phone and the application on it belong to us - we do it through our online transaction system on the computer. After this operation, we also need to establish your login data for the application, which we will have to enter each time you want to use it.
It would seem that such advanced security procedures are able to eliminate the risk associated with mobile banking. Unfortunately, not entirely. Bank applications may be "punctured", i.e. they may have security related vulnerabilities that can be exploited by cybercriminals. What's more, we can put ourselves in danger if, for example, we install suspicious applications. Then such an application may cause our data to be stolen and the account to be cleared of money. Therefore, we should never install such applications, even if they indicate that our access to your account will be blocked otherwise, or they are applications that allegedly improve security.
