In an era in which more and more people are deciding to work as self-employed people, places where freelancers can work together - even though they do not belong to a single company - are being opened more and more often. Coworking means that people from many industries can work in the same room or in the same space, divided into separate rooms. It is possible to rent them, but most often desks are rented. Why do people who could successfully work at home decide to work in such a place? What does coworking give to whom?

Working together for hours

Whoever works or has worked at home knows best that the initial euphoria ("I can wake up anytime I want and do everything at my own pace!") gives way quite quickly to disappointment. It is not true that such freedom is conducive to productive work, because we start later and usually also work much more slowly. There are many things that effectively distract from the tasks to be done, we still think that we have time for something, and others share this thinking. If, at a time when we need to focus, the household members are not quiet, it is very difficult to do everything solidly and on time. It is also very difficult to explain to anyone that the fact that we work from home does not mean that you can call us at any time to chat, that we can do all the housework for others and that we do not always have time to go out with friends whenever it suits them.

In a word, working from home is hard to motivate yourself - and others, especially the elderly, do not understand that a person sitting in front of a computer screen in their room is actually very busy. In addition, there is the need to meet customers if we are running our own business - this can be a problem, as few customers will find it a solid company run in a private home or in someone else's room. That's why places like coworking offices were created. In them, freelancers can find space for themselves by renting a small room, a separate boxing room or, as is usually the case, just a desk. However, we get much more - including the possibility to use the conference room, which is usually located in such places, where we can invite customers (it already looks very professional!) and recreational space, to rest during the break.

Motivation and friendship

Coworking is primarily a greater motivation to act - even if we do not work in the same industry or company, the view of other people who are active stimulates very much. Thanks to this, we are much more motivated to act, feel the flow of energy and do certain things faster, even if only to make sure that it does not look like we're lagging behind and so that our money is not wasted. Of course, renting a desk is payable - but we decide ourselves when and how much we order a place. We can arrange with the owners that we will come every day for 3 hours, or only on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 8. We can order a place for 5 hours, but leave after 3, if it is more convenient for us, and we can also not come at all, even though we have booked a place for ourselves for a whole month. It is up to us as landlords when and for how long we want to appear in the office. Surely it is worth it, because the very fact of having to gather and come there makes our body wake up faster. As far as costs are concerned, they are by no means huge. It depends of course on the company itself and the city in which we live, but given the number of people who decide on a similar solution, you can be sure that they pay little - otherwise they would not come!

In addition to motivation, employees of coworking offices gain something else - acquaintance! And in various industries, and this cannot be overestimated. It has already happened many times that later they joined forces in a joint project or started long-term cooperation. If you operate in a common industry, this is also an advantage, because you can always ask someone for advice, ask for help and so on. Remember that our new friends also have their own friends - our network of contacts and capabilities will increase significantly! In addition, coworking offices sometimes organize integration meetings, at which everyone can come if they want to. But that's not all - today's offices also organize various further education courses, where you can also attend to improve your skills and abilities in any field! Therefore, joining the group of renting their own desks in such offices is definitely a good choice!

More and more offices

In the past, only those who were lucky enough to live in big cities could choose to work comfortably in the office. The fashion that came to us from the west was so warmly received that now similar coworking centers are being built in smaller cities! It's hard to even determine the exact number of them, as new ones are still being created. So if you work as a freelancer and are tired of sitting at home, maybe you should look around for a similar office in your area, or... open it yourself!
