5 reasons why companies use fixed telephony
VoIP landline telephony is doing really well. Despite the easy availability of mobile phones, many companies successfully use fixed-line telephony, which becomes more flexible over the years. What do entrepreneurs value most about VoIP telephony?
First reason: image issues
Having a phone number that is easy to remember and unchangeable for years affects the positive perception of the brand. Traditional landline number is easy to identify and find in the database, thus creating more trust than a mobile number, more often associated with private contacts.
Second ground: number assigned to the division
Fixed line telephony is also the possibility of permanent assignment of a number to a specific department. Such an organization makes it easy and fast for the contractor to reach the specialists. In companies, advertising, accounting and sales departments often have a strictly assigned number.
Third reason: low price
Another issue that speaks in favour of having a fixed number in the company is the low cost of calls. The cost of maintaining VoIP telephony is closely related to the frequency of calls. Generally speaking, fixed line telephony has lower fixed costs and achievable low call costs if most of the calls made by employees are incoming.
Fourth ground: additional functions
Today, landline telephony is not just about talking. It is also a set of practical and easy-to-use additional functions, such as an interactive menu, speech synthesizer, call forwarding and virtual fax. The user has the possibility to compose his own, fully compatible telecommunication system that meets modern standards of customer service.
Moreover, the company has at its disposal such functions facilitating the management of incoming calls, as among others:
- Mass dial function - improves office work by enabling the transmission of a validated, identical message to all customers (e.g. information on office opening hours);
- Play message" function - Thanks to it, callers receive automatic answers to the most frequently asked questions;
- Call center" function - in simple terms, it is a service of queuing people waiting for a conversation with a consultant;
- virtual switchboard - a telephone switchboard operating in the cloud;
- VIP numbers - easy to remember, inspiring trust among customers and enabling building the company's image.
Fifth reason: separation of working time from private time
While a mobile phone user carries it with him or her in his or her pocket even after work, risking further calls in his or her free time, a fixed line business operator clearly separates his or her working time from his or her personal time. Outside office hours, customers can leave their key messages via an answering machine. This element, neglected by some entrepreneurs, helps to maintain a balance between work and family life.
